Honour Prophet Ibrahim’s (as) tradition and sacrifice for the love of Allah
As we approach the days of Qurbani, believers prepare to sacrifice an animal to demonstrate their obedience to Allah. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked, “What is Udhiyyah (Qurbani)?”, he replied, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (peace be upon him).”
Qurbani is a highly blessed and virtuous act, with the number of sins forgiven being equal to the number of hairs on the body of the sacrificed animal. We will be conducting Qurbani in over 15 countries, giving you the opportunity to fulfill your Qurbani and feed thousands of poor and needy people around the world.
Who is eligible for Qurbani?
Human Development Foundation uses specific criteria and a scoring system to determine Qurbani recipients. The criteria include:
- Families living on less than the minimum income for their country.
- Female-headed households.
- Families with disabled and/or elderly members.
- Children under five years old.
Pregnant women. - Breastfeeding mothers.
- Families with little or no access to the market.
Our teams conduct thorough assessments to objectively prioritize these criteria.
This ensures that we reach the most vulnerable families without bias.
The Significance of Qurbani
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“There is no act of man on the day of Nahr (Eid al-Adha) more beloved unto Allah than the sacrifice. And indeed, the sacrificed animal will appear on Qiyamat day with its horns, hooves and skin. And indeed, the blood of the sacrifice is accepted by Allah even before it touches the ground. So perform the sacrifice with a happy heart.”
